          Well it was my second year of Chicago Comic Con and I have to saw it was even more awesome than last year! None of its amazing experience would have been possible with all of the people who supported it. Whether you came and saw me or promoted me somewhere else in the world via twitter, THANK YOU. Alright, that all had to come first and foremost. Now to a quick weekend breakdown.
          I ended up flying solo this year. Aaron Goodwin was going to be hanging at the booth with me and have a ton of awesome A Goodwin Collection stuff but duty calls and he had to go track down some ghosts. So he and I will be together again at Scarefest in September 2012. I released some brand new art at the Con including 3 Doctor Who pieces (2 of which are no longer available) and 3 of my untitled Star Wars series pieces. If you hold any interest of snagging up one of these originals then I would suggest doing it sooner rather than later. Twice this weekend I got to witness the decision to come back for art only to have someone else come back and swoop up just hours later. I had never been witness to that. I've only been in their shoes before so it was weird to finally see from a viewers point. You can FINALLY see the pieces here on the website so go and check it out!
           A really cool highlight of the weekend was having Predator himself (Scar to be exact) come over and bring crowds of people. His spokesperson announced that you could find predator art at my booth and that the predator would sign it as well. The Predator apparently liked my art (especially the predator art) so much that he wanted to pull that stunt. It really meant a whole lot. And it was fun to see the predator signing his autograph. I do have to admit that I got some stuff signed as well.
         

     One of the highlights of the Con was getting to meet the one and only Brom. If you don't already know, Brom is my favorite artist of all time. I have been a huge fan and inspired by his work since before I even knew who he was. Whether I was flipping through a comic book and pausing in aw on the D&D ad pages with his dragons or redrawing the Doom 2 cover or seeing something else that I didn't even know he was the working hand in, I was a fan since I was a child. In highschool I finally learned who he was. His work could be found plasterd on my books or on my bedroom walls. It had been a dream to finally meet him. When I found out he was going to be at Chicago Comic Con I was pretty much a gitty fan girl. Let me, just for the record, say that I have met a lot of people I consider to be famous. I was a singer for a rock band and played with and met bands like KISS, Goo Goo Dolls, Gavin Rossdale, chatted with movie folk such as Sylvester Stallone, Milla Jovovich, Sean Patrick Flannery. I have always managed to keep my cool,BUT meeting Brom was my fan boy moment. I would like to say I maintained myself pretty well, but I'm sure I still came off a little strong. Brom if you ever read this, trust me I am totally not a weirdo. Hah eh nah I wasn't that bad. It was an honor getting to meet him. I must say that I had always thought he might be kind of intense and dark (judging from his photos) but honestly he could not have been more honest and sweetly spoken. Along with all of the "celebs" I have met, some of them have been pretty crummy people. Forgotten their roots. Brom is a prime example of how people should treat others and act about their success. Oh and if I said meeting him was the highlight, I should say that perhaps topping that was when he walked over to my booth, stepped behind the table, touched my canvas and started asking about my process. We discussed everything and he finally said (after a long and majestic explanation of art) "..what I'm trying to say is..you do really good work". It was all just amazing. AND his wife Laurie just so happens to be as good an artist as him! How the world didn't implode due to greatness I will never know but regardless, they were both amazing people and I walked away with my FIRST Brom original.
   

        
       I also would like to give a shout out to James O'Barr, creator of The Crow. I met him briefly last year and this year we actually got to talk and get to know each other a bit. He is another example of a humble and gracious human and artist. I can't wait to see him at the next Con and chat with more. For now I will just have to channel his awesome energy through my Crow wedding present.

And speaking of that, thats right! I GOT MARRIED! At a beautiful wedding to a beautiful gal. All in all I would say it was a damn good week.
